Beth's Books
Writing a book is like having a baby.
Labor pains are inevitable. But when, at last, you hold the book in your hands, it’s impossible not to smile.
I’ve given birth to more than four dozen books over the years. That’s a whole lot of smiles. Some smiles are for a job well done, others for a job done, period. Still others are for books yet to be born. Already I can feel them stir.
My next book — Fearless Creativity — is doing more than stir. It will be released this summer. The book is not just for writers, however, but for all creative souls who want to bring dream projects to life. Subscribe to the WriteDirections newsletter for updates.
In the meantime, let me introduce you to my other babies (books). May you one day have dozens of your own, and may they all make you smile.

I Have a Great Idea for a Book (or do I?)
It’s not enough to have a great idea for a book; you have to know whether your idea is great for you.
Book ideas are not created equal; some are simply better than others. It’s critical, therefore, to choose wisely.
You’ll get the direction you need in I Have a Great Idea for a Book (or do I?).
More specifically, you’ll learn how to rate your book ideas according to key criteria. By interpreting your scores, you will better understand how willing and able you are to begin—and complete—a given project.
You’ll also learn how to sort through your ideas, as you would your clothes closet. In the process you’ll identify the ideas that still fit and those that should be tossed. Finally, you will learn how to choose the one idea you simply must get to —the one that matters most to you and the readers you long to touch with your words. (Blue Island Productions)
