The Small Publishers Association of North America (SPAN) is a not-for-profit
organization for independent publishers and self-published authors. Its goal is
to advance their members' image and increase their profits through education and
marketing opportunities.
Considered by some to be the voice of independents, it publishes an excellent monthly
newsletter called SPAN Connection filled with hot tips for printing, distributing
and promoting your books.
Regular membership is $95 a year and includes the newsletter, and discounts on various
services (via its associate, or business, members), such as design, printing,
fulfillment and electronic transfers.
You can learn more about SPAN at www.SPANnet.org.
(By the way, SPAN was founded by Marilyn and Tom Ross, authors of The Complete
Guide to Self-publishing and Jump Start Your Book Sale.)
